Salma Ismail

Salma Ismail is a fiction and nonfiction writer based in Hargeisa, Somaliland. Through her work she explores the themes of women’s rights, feminism and the human condition.

She is the founder of Contemporary Voices – a platform dedicated to bringing young artists and creatives to explore, collaborate and showcase their artistic talents. Contemporary Voices hosts book discussions, podcasts, art exhibitions, and workshops.
