Daniel Rafiki

Daniel Rafiki is a 22-year-old Rwandan who is currently pursuing a degree in medicine at the University of Nairobi. His story ‘Versus’ won the 2015 Huza Press Prize for Fiction. He started writing to beat the stereotype that success in his professional field was only measured according to academic performance. He now writes because he finds the art thoroughly fulfilling and hopes his passion for literature, Africa and science will soon come together nicely.
